ABOUT FOLKADOT

Award winning indie folk artists

Folkadotmusic.com is the next step for us as musicians. It represents our new home for our brand of alternative indie-folk music that has been performed all over Northamptonshire. Formed in 2021, originally as 'Lady and the Uke' we have composed and written over 75 songs, 8 albums, and received over 30 awards including being featured on BBC radio.

A hardworking husband and wife team who do it all ourselves - the songwriting, studio production, the artwork, and the videography. We work hard to produce the best music we can using the instruments we know best. Our original songwriting has been heard on BBC, Amazing Radio and received 30+ awards from the UK Songwriting Contest over 3 years.

We continue to grow and are available for events, gigs and festivals. Just drop us a line and we would be happy to bring our show on the road.

We're excited to announce we have gained another 7 awards from the UK Songwriting Contest 2023! This brings our total haul to 30+ awards in 3 years. Combined with radio play from Amazing Radio and BBC Northampton, it's been quite a busy time for us!

Little Girl

This is a song about female empowerment written to inspire and praise our inner child, and look at what we can do and break free of the shackles of society and soar high into the sky. Challenging all the inadequacies and anxieties, the ups and downs, and the inner child - this song inspires self-love.

Bad Travelling

The second single from 'Folkadot', our debut self titled album, sees "Bad Travelling" on all platforms. With this video, we wanted to explore some lo-fi creative options, VHS home video shot footage, a simple message of hope and love. For us, alternative folk is an indie-produced expressionism that gives us joy in a world without much soul.

Summer Sunshine

This is our debut track from our new self-titled album "Folkadot"' released 29.04.23. Summer Sunshine (which has been played on BBC Radio!) is about letting the sunshine into your life; ridding yourself of all those negative thoughts, and living in a world without this hate. This video is about us trying to connect more with you - our audience - by letting you in to our day-to-day. Hopefully we can show you the sunshine that is within us.
